1. Promote a culture of peace through dialogue and discussion

• Civic engagement platform grounded in respect and inclusion: We illuminate and confront the conflicts caused by division, identify pathways for change, and envision together a future of peaceful coexistence.

• Peace education through mutual learning: We expand the horizons of peace by linking our values and aspirations to the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Strategic Focus


Promoting co-development of the Korean people & Broadening exchanges and cooperation to address the disparity between the two Koreas

1. Taking a proactive role in Inter-Korean cooperative projects induding those related to agro-livestock, health care, ecological environment, and knowledge sharing that are both sustainable and mutually beneficial

2. Extending sharing movement where humanitarian needs exist

June 21, 1996 Establishment of the Korean Sharing Movement
July 1996 Initiated a nationwide fund-raising campaign to help the North Korean people
June 1998 Hosted a “Corn Porridge Dinner for the North Korean people” with distinguished figures from many sectors of society
February 1999 Registered as the exclusive gateway for South Korean aid to North Korea
May 2001 Appointed as an official organization for supporting North Korea by the Ministry of Unification
November 26, 2003 Establishment of the Center for Peace and Sharing
Feb. 2004 ~ Jan. 2006 Served as the President Organization for the Korea NGO Council for Cooperation with North Korea (KNCCK)
May 2005 Organized “The 4th International NGO Conference on Assistance to the DPRK” in Beijing
July 31, 2007 Granted Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (UNECOSOC)
Feb. 2012 ~ Jan. 2013 Served as the President Organization for the Korea NGO Council for Cooperation with North Korea (KNCCK)
